Today I will be addressing the stereotypes of the Zeta Tau chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau.
(Happy Founder's Day!)

Stereotype: Sweet and Philanthropy-Driven
Alpha Sigma Tau is one of the smaller chapters on campus. Clair Walters, Junior in AST, states, "we are a smaller organization so we can be difficult to spot sometimes." However, these girls are involved all over campus, you just don't realize it. They have sisters in Peer Mentors, Delta Sigma Pi, Sigma Alpha Iota, Global Leaders, and a sister on the College Panhellenic Council Executive board.
AST is also very philanthropy-driven and are very passionate for raising awareness of domestic abuse. "We had a 24/hr swing-a-thon to raise awareness for domestic violence," Clair says, "Some of my sisters spent hours swinging in the middle of the night and into the morning. And then the next day went to Charlottesville to volunteer for our local philanthropy’s 5K."
Their welcoming, sweet, and kind personalities are what people love about them and respect them for. Although they are a smaller chapter, they make a big impact on campus, on their philanthropy, and on each other.
Next week I will be addressing and debunking the stereotypes of Alpha Beta Psi! I will be getting an outside view of the organizations from individuals outside of Greek Life and the perspective from the sorority sisters themselves.
